lack of foot pedal aint an issue, I am 6ft and a 105kg and regularly do 2500km in a week, never missed the foot rest once.

i Test drove a TJ multiple times over the years trying convince myself but found it to be a prehistoric. Ended up buying a custom short wheel base diesel cruiser.

JK eats a TJ for breakfast, lunch and Tea whatever the application

Grades and requirements -

Grade (VERY DIFFICULT) 7 - 9 Traction and control difficulties likely to be encountered requiring a suitably equipped vehicle (minimum- higher ground clearance and 31” All Terrain Tyres) and a very experienced and trained driver. Vehicle recovery is very likely. Other special requirements may be specified by the Trip Leader.

A Grade (EXTREME) 10 As for ‘very difficult’, except that potentially hazardous track conditions may be encountered and vehicle damage is a possibility. Very experienced and trained drivers required and vehicles must be more highly modified with higher ground clearance, self recovery (winch), Mud Terrain type tyres and other specialised modifications may be specified by the Trip Leader

If i was looking for jeep now id get a JK UNLIMITED, space is a big thing for me!

I swapped to an XJ for the same reason ... storage space.

Because the XJ interior is so low the only real benefit ended up being able to get a second spare and long objects up on the roof.

If I was prepared to buy a new vehicle with a 5 year, washing machine life expectancy ... I'de be wanting that mil spec lwb 2dr JK.

Let me just point this one out to you

What you've described here is a Stock JK. Takes significant modification to get a TJ to that.

Lets look at the facts shall we?

Stock on Stock a Jk will win EVERY time. Why? More height, bigger tires, better engine.

You start modding them both and you loose the ability to compare them.

thats the important thing here - YOU CAN"T COMPARE THEM AS they DONT have the same mods

One things for sure the Jk has alot over the TJ - Real control arms (rather than tin foil), no need for a SYE, better steering set up and to top it off, its bigger, more powerful and heigher up from stock..

Reason the JK's weren't on the insane trips? Well majority of people haven't moddified there vehicles to that level yet..

Wait till they have and lets see TJ v JK then...

the TJs will go home crying with there Tinfoil control arms and crappy SYE's
