The diesel starter is a bit bigger than the petrol one. You can replace the brushes or have an auto elec do it. The drive with the one way clutch is prone to ware & sometimes needs replacing.

Oil change+ Filter, Fuel Filter change and decided it needs a new clutch fan plus I need to work out what on the power steering exactly is leaking. A clean is in order first.

I also sold my Mercedes, so one lest car in the stable. Yay! And boo! cause I didn't get what I wanted for it. Them's the breaks.

Drive from Sydney to Millthorpe/Blayney over the weekend for a friends wedding. Quite happy with how the XJ performed, but sounds like I've got a fairly loud rhythmic rattle in the rear after rotating my tyres between 20 and 40Km/h. As the feathered tyres are now on the rear, don't know whether it is just the vibes of the tyres rattling something like the bumper that was loose a little while back or if its something brake, bearing or uni related. Sounds tinny.
Also seem to have the steering wheel bouncing up and down a little when over 100Km/h but I'm guessing this is wheel balance.
And I've found that the switch I wired into my thermo loom seems to allow the power from the factory thermofan circuit back through the ignition when you pull the key out when warm. As nice as it is to have a "turbo timer" effect you can't lock the doors so a diode will be going in soon, as well as an update to my write up!

very nice with the tyre vibes my mates GF has a surf with 32"s that is majorly feathered and she also has vibes at 20-40 and around 100. we have tried rotating but really she needs to replace them. hope this helps..the only other suggestion i would have would be to borrow some tyres the same size and see if the you can replicate the issue. if not then you know if the tyres.

A helicoil will probably fix them !!
