What unit is this? and what reverse camera did you use with it?

Got my dash cam in the post this morning and installed it. I also have a hard wiring kit but will put that in next weekend.

Here's some pics.

You can just see it here installed behind the review mirror, you cant see it from the drivers or passengers seat and it's harder to spot from outside against the black of the mirror so less of a target for theft.

The base sticks to the windscreen and has two ports on it for power, they are also passthru ports so I will power it from the top and then use the bottom to run power out for my sony action cam when it is on it's windscreen bracket, a neat solution I think. The base is also the GPS receiver. Here I have power coming in from the bottom while I test.

And here it is with the mirror in place and the camera on the base.

And with the mirror out of the way, the screen turns off after a set time (in the menus) so it's quite discrete when running.

And a screenshot of the video and gps data from a free app called RegistratorViewer

Video is excellent and I have a polarizing filter on the lens to reduce glare and reflections. Tracks can be uploaded into google earth as well and saved as KMZ files.

Cheers
Steve

It is called the 0806 and is about $199 with the hardwire kit, 32GB SD card, polarizing filter and the GPS base (you can get it without a GPS base and filter if you want). You can also get them cheaper but the earlier 0806 builds had quality control issues so I bought a "Batch 3" model locally (ebay still) so if there are any issues I can get it sorted. Used it a bit today though and it's great The 0805 is also supposed to be pretty good, and cheaper again, but it can't flip the image in the camera and misses out on a couple oof other things.

48,000 K service - done on 'time' rather than K's as I'm not actually close to that many K's yet. Fitted up some front lower control arm skids courtesy of Wooders (good value).

Installed a MBRP Cat back exhaust system this morning. Getting the OEM pipe off the rubber hangers took longer than it did to install and adjust the new one. I'm really happy with the sound, but I'm really hoping it will squeeze a little bit more power out of the 3.8. Bigger Cats will be happening in the future.

I also fitted an external speaker for the UHF. $10 eBay special from China and it works really well.
