True nursing tale as witnessed......
Working in a unit with client's with severe "Pica" issue's (eat ANYTHING) and the odd one or two whom had "insertion" issue's.......... So what goes in, has to come out as they say and if you got a particular group, you also got "pan duties" and had to inspect/disect every bowel motion, but that's not the tale...........
Female group, nearing handover, conducting their check's (female nurse's) as directed when suddenly scream+++ from the clinic room......... Very curious??.....
Enter to find them x2 freaking out at what appeared to be a limp small frog's leg being where it should not have been... "Get it out" was the scream.........
Ring the Doc......... Character ++......
Doc arrived quickly as he did not believe us but hoped it was true??
He did a quick check an a quick evacution as they say of same object??...... He stated he had some "good/bad news for us??"................
Stated, "The poor frog is dead, sigh!! and offered any staff if they wished to try a bit of mouth to mouth, sure, the "good news" but the second one was still alive so we could put it back down the creek!!........
Staff had gathered and handover was on as they say, but he had not finished yet giving some of the lady RN's a hard time, his parting comments were "Ladies I do apologise, please do not get worried if in about 2 or 3 weeks you find "a little tadpole or two in the bath water" as he had forgot to check the "sex" of the frog's, so just ring him and he would come back again to check, laughingly........... Much to the uuurrr of the female staff and the roar of laughter from the male staff around.....................
