you pay reg for a motor vehicle not a push bike .

again rant over
Drivers speed, drive too slow, don't indicate, cut you off, tailgate, drive whilst on the phone...etc etc too.... but not everyone breaks the law and that applies to cyclists and drivers...

you know what flexytj...why should I pay rego for my bike when I ride to work instead of driving???? I do it because it's better for the environment and better for my health. Besides that fact I am doing less damage to the roads by riding a bike that weighs <95kgs with me on it.. as opposed to a truck weighing 1500kgs... I only ride 1 or two days a week, but it's enough to make me feel like I'm doing something better for myself and the environment... Why should I have to pay for the privilage of saving Vicroads money???

I think drivers just need to be more tolerant.... I've had people throw shit at me out of there windows whilst driving past, abuse me, even had people going in the other direction flip me the bird out the window.... what for... haven't these people got something better to get angry about than cyclists...

It's annoying that it's hard to leave when you can't find the door....

Trying to stay out of this one, but some of you guys are utter halfwits.

I drove heavy vehicles for a living for over ten years.

I rode a push bike to work and back every day for 5 years, (return trip of around 90k's)

From a "truckies" point of view, I found it much more frustrating, and dangerous, having morons in cars cutting me off etc... than I ever got from cycilists.

From a cyclists point of view again wankers in cars (mainly 4x4's and small trucks) thinking that they are somehow tougher, abusing me and trying to run me off the road. Only ever had a few problems with "real" trucks.

In peak hour traffic in any city, a pushy will always be faster commuting. Yep we cut lanes, yep some of us may even run red lights. So what? jealous? Bet half of you anti-cyclists would not have the balls to have a go at a hairy bloke on a Harley splitting lanes!

Both sides of the camp have their idiots, as in all things. For a couple of you who have generalised cyclists as all irresponsible, If you really are so upset by these lane hogging, lycra wearing pests, why don't you get out of your penis extension and say something!

I think you might get a nice surprise, most of the guys I know who ride are extremly fit and don't mind a bit of extra training!

Far safer to abuse them from your seat though I guess, or on a forum.

One thing you have to remember too.
If you abuse a cyclist from your car, you have rego plates and can be traced.

Oh Jezz, I am going to have to go back and read this now and see if there is anything I take offence to.
