Took out the LED 'globes' and put the +80s back in after one of the LED low beams failed. Went intermittent a while back & I swapped them over to see if it was the voltage regulator or the leds, and it worked perfectly for another six months or so. Then started flickering the other night & stopped all together. Appears ot be the led itself that has failed as swapping the globes swapped the fault before it stopped all together.
Focus of the normal globes is much better, and the cutoff is much sharper. While the light seems dimmer & yellower, (even with 'blue power' globes), the illumination seems better. And as I have a 20" Aurora bar on the front now, I don't need them for better distance.
And to add insult to injury, I found a nail in the back tyre of my bike. As it only just made it through rego & already had a patch in it, there went another $300 to replace it as well.
