Yep it was driving me crazy. I ended up having to put a flat washer on the back to lock it into the panel as well as drill a hole through the body for the cable. So much better though

It's easy enough to do. the ratchet straps were the most expensive part at $47.
Are those ratchets double acting? How do you lower the top back down without it dropping suddenly as soon as you release the ratchet locking mechanism?

Thanks to Seven Slot Offroad, I now have a 2.5" AEV lift and my front spots wired up.

Now to start saving for the next mod.

Friction.

The top only has to be lifted an inch or two, just enough to drive the car out. When putting the top back on, you lift the brake on one strap and the friction of the strap lowers that side slowly. Then do the same on the other side.

The camera I bought has offset locking rings so you can adjust it slightly up or down or in this case left or right. Otherwise it will just look to the left of the car if it was mounted in the middle of that blanking plate.

Removed sub, and replaced it with non sub panel. Installed kicker hideaway under passenger seat.
