I would be more concerned with twist than with departure/rampover angle. If the trailer rolls (don't laugh, it has happened) you don't want it capable of applying enough torque on the hitch to roll the towing vehicle as well. That's why most people towing in off-road conditions fit specialised off-road hitches (Tregg, Highlander, OzHitch, DO35, etc).

I'm sure there aren't many shopping centres up there - does that mean the spare goes back on the door when you get home?

I would have to agree with Pipes regarding the tow hitch and just add that I would keep an eye on those rear mud flaps...you might find them tear off or rip at those lengths....in any event have a great time

I have a hyland hitch now but have to say I was able to tow my last camper to a lot of places on the std ball, including the bungle bungles. Those rear long mudflaps were a pain though. When the KJ was new I got the dealer to replace them with the 02 rear mud flaps (real shorties) I had torn mine after a day in the mud and asked if they risked the wheel arches as they are plastic. The dealer mumbled about reg codes but came up with the short mudflaps. No probs since.

ADRs state that the rear mudflaps must be not more than 300mm from the ground for a vehicle designed to go offroad, and 200mm in all other cases.
