Really appreciate the offer mate, but i think the wife already has them for me. The way she talked me out of buying some with our tax money i reckon she already has them tucked away for next month. Much appreciated though.

finally got a few hours free this arvo and looked at the xj. I needed all of about 3 seconds and saw the bad news

Yes , that is my sump that has exploded from inside to out! Wow.....
Anyway engine is toast and im guessing the gearbox wont be much better after the 100km tow (Thanks again Skettler)

On the plus side i have located a new engine and trans in Adelaide ready for pick up as soon as I am ready. Just holding off because there may be a cheap cherokee with decent running gear in port Lincoln, got to love having friends that travel alot!

Ouch! I'm guessing it's totally thrown a rod!
You staying with the 6? Or going V8?
Or while it's out fab up a turbo manifold and go forced induction? Should be ok on low boost with standard internals, but mighty fun 😆

Just going to go with the standard 6 for now just to keep the cost as low as possible. I'd love to go with the 5.7 but just cant stretch that far right now . Still the 6 actually has a surprising amount of power
