Love the lights toohough.
I originally wanted it straight black but I found with my stock bar when I used to stand on it the paint got all scratched up real easy. I decided the alloy plate would be the way to go for this one, already stood on it a few times to give it the jump up and down test hasn't left a mark. Also gives it that final little touch I think The swingarm will cover most of it as well.

The main reason was to fill the gap though

Cheers
Steve

That is a top effort Steve. Nicely done.

I like the chequer plate, looks industrial and gives it the much needed protection. Also gives a bit of grip when standing on it.

You could quite easily high lift off that bar right ? Are you going to put a couple of little raised tabs along the underside for locating the high lift so she doesnt slip off ?

Did a little more, started on the carrier. The hub and bearing is very neat. As a test I decided to put my lardy 90kg arse on the swingarm near the bearing, a little closer than the tyre will be. Very minimal flexing even with just the basic arm, had a little swing no problems at all. I decided I dont like it so long though, too much hassle to swing in and out. I'll be chopping it shorter and changing the latch location .

The stud for the latch will be mounted on the face of the bar in the centre with a little skid plate under it just in case. It'll stick out about an inch. The latch will be below the swingarm and will also incorporate a rubber bumper to apply some pressure to the latch.

The arm for the tyre will be cut about level with the current number plate light and angled back to follow the lines of the hatch and then continue up. Where it is currently I can fit a 39" tyre and not block the lights

Anyway, all hard to explain but I think I know what I'm doing

Kinda like this

Cheers
Steve

Sorry so many pics are gone but in light of Yumpets problem I decided to get rid of them, I'll add some more back when I blur the number plate.

Cheers

Steve, why are you only running what looks like 50x50x6 SHS instead of the 75x50x3 RHS which is lighter and stiffer in the vertical plane? If you stick with the 50 mm SHS you will have to add braces to stop it from bending long term which adds more weight again.
