Tried to find the source of a battery drain... Ran a multi-meter over everything, can't find it. I'm now thinking the battery is finished, as it is 3 years old...

Thanks Alex.

Well it's all there and everything works, just don't look pretty

I've patched the rust and killrusted it all and put conduit on the exposed wiring loom in the foot wells, so I guess the inspector could see I was at least trying eh.

Good luck with ya gremlins mate.

cheers

Bruggzz you mentioned no front axles.... Do you mean no front axle shafts?? I would highly recommend not driving it like that if that is the case. The hubs are not strong enough and can separate if the hub nut is not holding them together. Trust me it has happened to someone on here a year or two ago. not me thankfully...

Regards A

Thanks for the concern AG. Yeah, no front axles. BUT only the inners. I'm running outers to support the hubs.

I've done this kind of thing quite a few times. I was an early Subaru wagon owner.(loved that car) Ran it in rear wheel drive quite alot as it was difficult to find quality CVs for the front. It got caned pretty ferociously so I went through front cvs regularly. Trick back then was to separate the outer cv and use the cup to keep the hub together. I actually had a pair of cv cups just for the job.

cheers

That is interesting as I have no recollection of doing this....

I do have a broken outer to enable it to happen but have never actually done it...
