New tyres. Nitto trail grapplers. 35x11.5r17
Don’t understand why this size isn’t more popular. Fits on factory rims. No spacer needed, sits well inside the guards, very small amount of rubbing at flex with 2.5 lift, less rolling resistance, and c load range so a bit softer.

Don’t know why my pics are going sideways.

Overall, no issues with the installation other than the usual having to cut the inner fender to get to the passenger side top shock nut. Getting the bolts lined up for the new control arms took a bit of muscle, but nothing a good pry bar didn’t fix!

I gained about an inch (25mm) all around compared to the previous Teraflex spacer levelling kit (so about 3” up front and 2” in back over stock), and it’s perfectly level at 505mm at the pinch seam corners.

Initial impression is WOW!!! The Jeep rides soooo much better than before. Smooth, controlled, no more brake dive or wallowing around corners. The added caster from the longer control arms is noticeable, and the steering wheel centres much quicker. On the highway it’s much more stable and only needs one finger on the wheel. This demonstrates to me how much even a small lift (e.g. levelling spacer lift) impacts on the Jeeps geometry without some sort of correction, such as caster and/or rear track bar.

Side note, I also found the culprit of my slight front wheel shimmy. Turns out the shop that installed my new wheels and tyres didn’t remove the retainer clips front the discs. Sorted now.

Pics!

I’m happy!!!!

How are you liking those ranchos?

Really good so far. I did a weekend of camping and trails at Sundown national park the other week and dialed them up for the highway when fully loaded and backed them off for trail work. I’m really impressed at how much of a difference a couple of clicks makes to the ride. Nice and soft for the rocks, climbs and drop offs (even some washboard roads) and then a perfect firm and controlled ride on the highway.

I’m comparing from a low base (stock), but the springs and shocks are night and day compared to the old set up. Hard to beat for the $$!

What I’m also really impressed with is the improvement in tracking and stability on the highway as a result of the control arms and track bar bracket! It’s so easy to drive now. Overall I’m super impressed with this set up!

Nice Boris, are you sure there is no rubbing?

I only ask as I have the 295/70/17 and they do rub in certain conditions. I would like to upgrade to 35 but thought that spacers were required so then decided I would go 37”.

If I can run the 35” without spacers then that would be my decision made.

Keen to hear your feedback re flexing etc.

Well, 35x11.5 would be around 290/80r17*. So they should be about the same, but possibly more likely to rub a little at full lock when disconnected, or at full flex. But not by much, especially since most tyres run smaller than the marked size.

*11.5"=292mm
35-17=18
18/2=9
9"=228.6mm
228.6/292.1=78.26%

Seems like it would not be to different to now for clearance then.

The 37” in the same tyre are available in a 12.5 which would be doable with large bump stops factory guards and wheel spacers. I am running about 3.5-4” of coil lift.

Where did you get this size from? They only list 35x12.5r17 on the Nitto website.

Jeep looks great BTW!
