Having lost first a park light globe, then a low beam globe....I decided, after checking the bank account, that it was time to go LED.
SBR Offroad had the best price I could find on J W Speaker 8700 Evo J2 RHD lights.....and I couldn't believe they got them to me from Perth to Sydney overnight....ordered Thursday morning, arrived Friday after lunch.
I decided I was bored with the Spartan grill, so I cleaned up the stocker and refitted that at the same time as I swapped in the lights.
The main beams simply plug in.....anti-flicker is built in. The parkers need a couple of connectors added to the wiring...and while I was there, I added wiring extension for the inbuilt DRLs.....I'll sort a power location for those later.
I premarked the beam centres before removing the halogens, to give me an aiming point for the LEDs. They were on centre, just had to adjust them down a touch.....2 minutes to align, and done.
Checked them out tonight.....the light is nice and white, better than the creamy colour of the halogens.....and the low beam pattern is very wide, lighting up the sides of the road very nicely. High beams are nice and bright white and give a good spread, but don't think you can give up on using a combo light bar or driving lights etc. I like the way these new JW's light both the low and high beam elements when they're on high beam.
