That's one thing I haven't done to my xj's for a while now.

Swapped out the long range tank with the old one for the new xj. 2 PAC paint time.

I normally just give it a wipe when there is a break in the rain. I have never used a car wash wouldnt know how to. Dont you have a creek crossing near by you can pull up in & sponge away? There are some good rocky ones in the high country I use before heading home.

The South Esk in Mathinna would work but I am currently in Launceston. I mainly wanted the mud spray off the sides so my passengers don't get there clothes dirty when getting in.

eye are all good now just happy that its the first leak I've attempted to fix that actually stopped leaking.i put at least 3 rear main seals i realized the 01 xj used a different sump gasket(lack of a shoulder recess on the cap)from memory) and then a quality problem with the seal so went to a genuine jeep seal and gasket.so yer, thank mate eyes are good

I had to run 6mm twin for mine anything less and it had trouble kicking in. Mine is a 45L so now overly large.
