Love the jeep!!!

Did you successfully get it engineered or is that still ongoing and who is your engineer?

Is your other project vehicle related?

I'll be happy to help anyone shoehorn a v8 into anything! Itching to get back working on it.
Engineering has been a bit of a drama as my previous engineer decided to bail out just as it was getting close to finishing and haven't had time to do much on it since. In Feb I'll let you know how the new engineer goes.
There has been a big crack down in Perth in regards to engineers approving modified cars. The DOT did a recall and a heap of cars had to be reinspected - fines were getting sent everywhere

Yeah the whole engineering and licensing process and DOT in Perth sucks. I had not heard about the recall and fines though

I've used Jack Apgar as my engineer about 12 months ago, he was very thorough but reasonable. He is an American as well so kind of understands the mods people do to their vehicles.

Hello mate,

My name is Chris and I am new on here. I am French but I live in UK so I drive a RHD JK Rubicon and I intend to do a Hemi conversion like you did.

I read your posts with great interest and I cannot believe the amount of crap you had with the kit you bought !! I must make sure I avoid the Burnville kit.

If you don't mind I would like to ask you few questions. I don't want to be a pain in the Arse as I am sure you must have received lots of questions over the years.

Your thread is very good but I can't find anywhere that tells me if the engine you bought is a LS engine (Dodge) or a Chrysler - Jeep engine.

I thought I would ask you because I believe the base size is the same but the Angle between the two rows of cylinders is slightly less on the LS which makes the top of the engine a little bit narrower and so easier to fit in the engine bay than a Chrysler Hemi.

I see that you had new exhaust Manifolds made to measure, can you tell me why did the stock ones not fit ?

Also I've heard that the oil filter is in the way of the steering box so the Pitman Arm hits the oil filter. Could you tell me what was your way round this please?

Also the other thing I would like to ask you is about the Hemi kit itself. I understand that you were very disappointed with the Burnville Kit as lots of parts did not fit and you had to end up either buying other parts or having them made to measure.

So with your experience now if this was to be done again, where would you buy your Hemi kit from ?

I've heard that the AEV kit was the most complete kit but it's for LHD so I am really debatting where I should buy my kit from.

Thanks for your time.

Chris

If someone else who has the experience of Hemi conversion in a RHD JK could answer my questions I would be very grateful. As it would seem that King Bogan has not logged in for a while and time is running out. I must decide soon which Hemi kit I am going to buy.

Thanks,

Chris

G'day Chris on the first page it says that it's the 6.4 L of Hemi goodness. As to the other questions apart from the AEV lift I can't answer for you. I've had the AEV 3.5" my JKU for the last four years and I'm happy with it. If you have an auto you'll need a new front drive shaft, but other than that, well yes it is a complete kit. Some are critical that the components are on the light side but I haven't found that myself as my JK is mainly set up as you'd say for expeditions (or is it a raid?). For heavy off-road there may be better kits out there but for my purpose the AEV is fine.

Bonjour Jasper J,

Thank you for taking the time to reply to my questions.

The thing is I am not sure if the 6.4 of Hemi Goodness is a Chrysler engine or not and this is what worries me.

I was not asking about the AEV lift kit but the AEV Hemi kit but thank you for your reply anyway I appreciate your help.

Cheers

Chris
