Went looking for the newly developed cluck in the front rhs, didn't find it but put the spanners over it all, have to keep looking!
Run a switch to my jungle juice loom for my driving lights.
Found a new oil leak that will require transmission removal .... lots of swearing!!!!!
Trans removal? Are you running a diesel XJ? Or is the trans leaking?

Regards A

Was driving down the highway today doing about 80MPH.

Jeep started vibrating slightly, i keep driving, turns into more of a clunking, i start merging over to stop to check it out. Too slow. BANG!

Huge cloud of white smokes appears in my rearview. Feel a huge bang and loud thud. Smoke clears up and i see my transfer case and driveshaft bouncing down the highway.

You know i don't really know. I did see a little bit of fluid above my T-case like a week ago, but it wasn't much.

There was a pretty decent sized puddle right under what was left of my T-case when i finally stopped. I assume a bunch came out when the thing ripped out of my jeep. You can see the puddle in my first picture.

Rear end even started puking out fluid and i don't know why.

Ouch. Lucky nobody was hurt! By rear end do to you mean the diff? Pinion probably got yanked on by the drive shaft.

With thanks to negdriver, fitted up a towbar. Now I have a recovery point :-D

Still gotta fit up the front hooks and I should be sorted there, been putting it off as I know it'll be a biatch to do so and keep my nudgebar.
