I have not come across something like this, even me Ol Hilux , you can turn it off and sit there dipping the dip stick till your hearts content, and all it does is give you a true reading gradually getting closer to the full mark due to oil returning to the sump, where as with the Jeep,

Luv the size and style of the WG,

Corrected my post as the WG dipper was what I used on its Tranny, I started off with a length of that springy curtain stuff then came across this universal job, just marked the spot for the full and low marks as well as the top of the tube and worked perfectly on the WG tranny and once measured against the WK's dip stick gives a good reading each time... I think the VM's dip stick is just too thick and sucks oil up the tube.

Well, the brides Toyo Kluger finally ran out of battery...so...after the Jeep saved another toyo from being stranded...we went for a 'battery charge drive' and was the perfect time to give mine the 40klm run it needed to 'recharge' everything and get the thing up to temp to perform a burn n juices flowing....got back and figured it was the ideal time to do the under bonnet checks....'unreadable' dipstick sitting a bees knee under full (achieved by pulling and wiping the stick...leaving it hanging out of the tube for 20mins to allow oil to settle, then quick in n out...happy with the result so 'ignorance is bliss' method used), power steering fluid a bees knee over full, and has been for 6+mths, header tank (coolant level) a frack over full, which is ok as I overfilled it a month ago with distilled water, although, there is a li'l rustish slime on the bottom of the cap so a flush n renew is due, actually overdue in any case, brake fluid on the max mark, excellent really considering the k's with towing, so pads arent wearing 'quickly', no signs of leaks anywhere in engine bay...lovely, then jacked it up to drain the catch can (THANK YOU Jeeper6)...got a flow and maybe 20-30ml ??? came out...awesome because it didnt enter the intake...havent sorted the tranny so making a dipstick isnt high on the 'to do list' and really dont want to know whats goin on...lol....
Then sent some PM's to those I had contact numbers for, due to a 'bit of a bad run with phones'...all in all a great outcome and even better having saved a vehicle with the 'indestructible' badge on the grille....GO JEEP !

ps: even went hi tech n paired my new phone to the U CONNECT....SHOCKED myself in doing so !!!!
