What did I do to my XJ today, smashed the the drivers side rear window against a tree root, crushed the C pillar stoved in a couple of doors & squashed the sills, all in a days entertainment, got to love an XJ
pulled apart the interior and started fitting the new sound system. Now need spacers for the 6.5's as they don't quite fit in the original mounting holes.
More like those g-clamp types. Most guys in the states hire them but I can only seem to find the pickle fork types locally.
When we put the swaybar disconnects in we had to remove the bottom bolts that were pressed in by cutting them shorter and hammering them out - I think the heat helped but having them shorter helped the most to knock them out straight. Plus I didn't mind hammering the brackets back straighter after they bent. Don't think I'd be happy doing that to my tie rod, unless it's a moot point?
I know mine just took a gentle tap. No chance of bending anything. Can't say it was that easy when I replaced the panhard though, that really took some wacking and the pickle fork made little difference.

Hmm maybe I shouldn't stress too much about it? I'll give it another go...
Went for drive today to monitor running temps & found a great spot to finally get some flex pic's:
Also took the advantage of getting a couple of pic's of my fabbed upper track bar mount. Did this several mnths ago after giving up on buying one off Wooders. I bought a 22mm heim joint which threaded straight into the track bar, then a boiler maker friend modified the existing mount to my spec's. It's been great so far after about 5000Km's, so I'm now happy enough to show it off
