nah, but there's a few dickheads around here who try and use them as such with varying results.

We must inform Today Tonight or A current Affair about this outrage.

reyzor - I came onto this forum and put in my first post after months of frustration dealing with a shopping cart front end
Yes to have a little vent but also to see who else was out there feeling the same and perhaps what theyd done to fix it or whether they could point me to some sort of Jeep expert that could magically fix it - (Will be visiting FlexyTJ Soon)

At the stage when I posted the wall I was at my end and my jeep was already (still is) on the market but now through all the comments i have recieved from people unlike yourself and the spirit i've felt with this comunity it has inspired me to hang in there for a bit longer and give it a go after all thanks to flexytj for this comment glorified tractor or something - i think i may have to make up a bumper sticker to that effect. even been inspired to put an auto tranny cooler in over the next few weeks cause I really do enjoy my jeep otherwise.

So I guess what I am trying to say is ..... No I won't its not worth it

Actually I can say one thing if all the people on this forum were posting comments like yours then I would have stopped readin and posting 3 days ago and gone ahead with the deposit for that 200series before my jeep even sold.

Something else I might add - I never really said i had any problem with my dealer in regards to being helpfull and "trying" to fix my problem - they actually tried a few time but failed and thats why I decided not to go back - apart from having now booked in with them to get the updated tie rod - and yes they are doing it under warenty even though my jeep is very modified.

Those buying a 200 series and expexting to go places that a wrangler will will be crying as their 80k vehicle gets ruined. Have a close look it is a tourer. Too wide front and rear overhangs way too long and heavily reliant on electricals to get anywhere. If you think Toyota or any other make will treat you any different you live in dreamland. If you want a Toyota for the bush buy an older one or the troopy style ones (sorry can't remember the model No.) which quite like the JK,Defender and Patrol are based on 40 yr old design only exception is the Toyota still has rear leaves so is even more archaic. Anyone expecting a trouble free run from any vehicle new or second hand obviously has had enough vehicles. It is fairly common for vehicles to have recalls in their first few years and other issues which are rectified under warranty. Some say it is best to buy a two year old vehicle which has had all the little niggles sorted but i choose to buy new because i wanted the peace of mind knowing that i was the knob behind the wheel who had ill treated their steed. At least i know that the servicing will be done and anything broken will get repaired.

Daimler would have sold off Chrsler after running it into the ground and gleaning as much 4wd Info off Jeep much the same as Ford and Bmw did with Landrover. If your in any doubt look at the history either Jeep or Landrover has been the driving force behind virtually all 4wd advancements. Willy's the forebearer to most 4wds. Range Rover 1968 first all coil sprung. Discovery pioneer of small efficient turbo diesels and traction control. In fact the Discovery was so successful that it prompted the design of the Prado by Toyota due to the sales that where lost alll over the world. Oh and look Landrover design the terrain response and look what everybody else is having a crack at.

Anyone suggesting that certain makes are more reliable than others really hasn't seen the big picture. Toyota built and grew there reputation because they put service areas in the bush when others didn't and unless your stupid of course you'd buy one if your a cow cocky. Hence brand affinity grew and when x make was seen on the back of a truck back to the city dealer a geez they must be unreliable mentality grew. Fast forward now we have the internet where any tom, dick or harry can air their ramblings the whole misconceptions grow especially with brands such as Jeep and Landrover who have a more passionate following.

The other issue is Little shits out there seem to love bagging anything and everything without doing any research. As Humm....... i'm a class A C... has found out.
