Hi Clarky Yes they said that they would.
Mind you the reflash was done when it was still inside the warranty period.
Cheers

The N23 was/is a safety related recall. The dealer has to fix it ASAP foc no ifs or buts.!!Does not matter if inside or out of factory warranty.

Yes, I fully understand that. But having planned a few trips already, didn't want to risk doing it and then being stuffed around and not being able to fix it in time. After the trip, some time in January between the trips, yeah, I'll do it but armed with this thread

Thumbs down Don't do it if you go off road.

Here is a Quote from the first letter I received from Chrysler

Quote:
To date the only occurrence of inadvertent gear shifts into neutral have been in vehicles fitted with remote start-up function which is only available in the in the US
So knowing what I know now I wouldn't get it done, in the US where the problem exists the recall is voluntary so why get it done here where not one occurrence has been reported.
In Australia we use the park brake and as we don't have remote start you would be sitting in the car when you turn the key.

I cant find anywhere where it says its mandatory to get the flash done, so if Chrysler won't pay fore mine I will get a TCM from a wreck & replace mine, one without the software update.

The new parameters written into the software update are designed to lock the transfer case control out & a voltage drift when out on the track (say after a water crossing) will see you without 4LO & it wont come good until the code is cleared, at least the old software didn't lock you out when you need it the most.

IMO this trans issue by Chris20 sounds like it could be an "inadvertent gear shifts into neutral".

But I agree with you.
I wont be getting the update until I have something official on paper stating clearly that the actuator replacement is covered, to wave in the dealers face.
I'll also find out about Flashpaq being able to clear the fault code on the hemis (that's be great.)... plus the shortage of actuators might even be resolved one day .

Chris20's issue is not related to the N23 recall, its a solenoid (step motor) issue on the valve body, a simple fix if your a German engineer
