Found a wrecker in Melbourne showing 2x KJs with Safari snorkels, anyone want to give it a go?

Might ask them about the Warn winch too!

Is it silly to buy a snorkel before I buy a car?

I dont like the way the Airflow covers the side indicator. Safari is always better too.

Default KK snorkel

I've asked them how much for the JK CRD snorkel and airbox so I get all the bits. Think I might have to cut and reweld the top of the snorkel where it moulds over the bonnet side/edge, make the fender side of the snorkel flat. Maybe I could do it with some form of jig and the right amount of heat in the right place to flatten that angle along the inside face of the snorkel. Its amazing what a heatgun and towel can do to thermoforming plastics.

Yeah probably a little back to front but as you are aiming for the diesel I can’t see you being disappointed. I agree about the Airflow snorkel looking daft around the indicator. I suspect clearance at the rear of the bonnet may actually be ok as is but certainly that lip on the top horizontal edge needs some surgery.

I was wondering if anyone has thought or looked at a similar set up of an AEV Wrangler type set up on the KK CRD? What i was thinking a flatterened oval shape over the guard . Even to the piont of cuttin the outer Mudguard skin and the actual bonnet on theside and some of the top and sealling off around cut out to restrenghten ? Why this way is as to aviod cutting a hole in the side as this seems to be the issue.you see this type of thing on street and race cars ? I will have a chat the EDGE in toowoomba and see if they have a think about it . As they will build me and fit a custom snorkle on my KK . As they specialize in street and race customs including intakes.needing any info on problems others have been told mountind a snorkle on a KK presents ?

Default KK snorkel - CRD and V6

Can’t see why you’d need it to go so far towards the front though. Slightly forward of the guard centre is enough to enter the air box from the side or are you trying to avoid the vehicle frame altogether?
