I just finished replacing the switch on the transfer case to clear my P240D code, only to notice the shift cable on the transfer case is missing the clip on the end. The loop the end just sitting over the shaft, being held onto the transfer case by good luck. I've put on a zip-tie as a temporary measure.

Can you buy the cable-end clip separately, or am I up for an entire cable?

Is the cable part number 52104218AB?

I think it will need to be! The cable is north of $100 plus freight. I ain't about to pay that when all I need is a rotten clip!

I've ordered a random assortment of bushings on eBay for $4. I'll see if one of them fills the gap between the shift cable end loop and the lever on the t'case.

I have to share a bit of bad news. My $2 EL driver/power supply just kicked the bucket. I've ordered another just in case it was a one-off bad one.

Since these things come from China (or Hong Kong) and take 3-4 weeks to arrive, I also spent an extra $1 and ordered an LED strip as my "Plan B" in case the EL driver replacement fails again.

Question

My centre console lights still work.

Is that rare?
