The clutch fan stops in water, I've had mine in a creek waiting for the winch for 10 min, water over my driver seat. Water filling the tail pipe was the biggest issue. Requires a clear out with rpm. No issue.

You can get a electric fan to pull heaps of air but you need a real good alternator. Nothing for nothing. Trucks use clutch fans for a reason

Wouldn't it keep going for a few seconds once it hits the water, just enough time to spray it back. Although I must if it does it didn't affect my engine in any way last year when I had to go through water which was nearly lapping over the bonnet.

I suppose that there might be a possible issue if I held it a 4500rpm as I went in to water. With all the guards on I think the fan would be slowly inundated. Any way I've never had fan blade marks on a radiator.

I run a similar system with 3 fans very successfully. I ditched the a/c, clutch fan and bracket and use a shorter belt. Just made up a bit of bar up to the front of the p/s.

If you remove the clutch fan and use a shorter drive belt, what brand/part number do you use?
