I planned to go to the right to stay in the shallower water, but I managed to go almost straight through and as I was towing I managed to start sinking.
We already had the straps connected so I was towed the rest of the way through....

Discovered my Rear main started leaking again... looks like I didn't smooth those tiny scores I put on the crank when fighting the old seal down enough. Now I'm torn between doing it again or leaving it as the last time had me nearly torching the thing!

Also started cleaning up and servicing the XJ Diesel Axles I have to replace the stock 3.55s, hopefully this makes a bit of difference. If not at least it's a better platform to start re gearing in future.

ALSO finally finished putting all the carpets back in after cleaning it head to toe when I sunk it in a mud hole a couple of weekends ago. Jeepin is stressful

What size tyres are you planning to run with the 3.73's?

Yerr that would be an issue. I think if I had not kept moving when I did my crossing near home I reckon I might have sucked some water through the intake. That also makes sense about the pocket of air under the bonnet which I may well have.

Regards A
