Thanks mate. I have read the vertical visions TIPM solutions. My understanding from reading http://m.australiancar.reviews/revie...erokee&gen=483 is that my particular model was not recalled. To my knowledge the TIPM was never replaced, I never took it in for a TIPM recall. The dealership have told me they replaced the fuel pump relay when doing the pump, but my understanding is that the TIPM can progressively kill itself meaning the whole thing needs to be replaced? I am hopeful my case with FCA will yield something in the way of a new TIPM and reimbursement for the difference, but I’m not holding my breath!

I can’t see any other info online about other possible causes for this problem? I have been positive My issue has been TIPM related all along but the dealership aren’t having a bar of it. If I wasn’t in the hole for $3k with them I’d be taking it elsewhere. I have not received any commincation from the service manager during the whole process. I’ve had to call at least 5 times a day and leave just as many messages to even get through to him. Never in my life have I experienced such terrible service

I won’t be authorizing any further works until hearing from FCA / getting assurance any works will be at no cost to me (I haven’t paid for anything since the fuel pump) At this stage I’m happy driving around in my loaned alpha Romeo while they check and clean connections under the hood hoping for a quick fix

This is courtesy of Ozjeepster ex Jeep dealer employee in Coffs now out on own ,JeepsRus in Coffs. Might pay to give him a call.
To test the WIN ECV/ESCL Jump in vehicle do not put foot on the brake, press start button,do you hear or feel steering lock release ,if not issue with WIN.

By using this guide I'm able to see that the recall was obviously done on my car before I bought it. It does seem like a cheap short-cut, but the worst part is that the external relay is mounted directly under the coolant reservoir overflow pipe. My relay already has some brown coolant stains on it....water and electricity, yeah that's a good mix!

TOMORROW I will be fitting an extended/rerouted overflow pipe.

If when you try to start it the car it just cycles the ignition as if you don't have your foot on the brake it could be something as simple as the switch on your brake being faulty. Not sure where the switch is on them but I reckon if you look up under your footwell you'll probably see it and you could bypass the switch or throw a multimeter on it to see if it's working.

I sent an email to VerticalVisions asking if they do TIPM repairs from outside USA.No problems ,however just to be sure email part no of TIPM ,year, model and what is wrong with vehicle.Of course it still could be WIN etc.
