Hey. I reckon bifold the lid so it jams up against front seats .

Yep, that's the plan.
When open I was thinking of having it open to vertical, (or be removed completely) to allow permanent attachment of one of those lockable ute boxes behind the rear seats on top of it, and open space down to the floor in the back half.
When closed, a tonneau style back, but strong enough to stand on and be used like a tray back.

I'm doing it! Finally.
Got some 2.1mm steel checker plate and I'm cutting it to size.
I figure I size it up, cut out slots for the rear roll bars to go through, then somehow get it in the to the right place, drill some holes, bolt it on - hey presto!

UPDATE: my grinder died, so it was off to Supercrap for a $20 one which did the job nicely.

I wish!
More likely some plastic tubs underneath for now. And a big tool box bolted down on top.
Once it's finished...

Now, off to get hinges, some more bolts, and some nice bright paint - perhaps orange - a bright orange deck would be nice.
