So based on that I am going to go 4.10 ratios which is closer to standard gearing on 33's. Some will argue that 4.56 gives you better off road crawling speed, which it does but it is only like an 11% reduction on 33" which is bugger all in terms of crawling, not worth putting up with the revs singing on the highway and the added fuel usage of sitting at those revs especially if you want to sit over 100kmh too.

thats my 2 cents

Honestly, the stadard revs in a TJ at 100klm/hr in 5th (about 2000rpm) is too low.

I'm running 32's with 4.11 gearing in my 5sp and it revs at about 2300-2400 which is perfect. It does sound a bit high to me after cruising around for years with the 3.07's & 2000rpm but the fuel economy has improved and i reckon the engine is now in it's powerband.

If i were to run 33's+ full time, especially offroad, i'd go with 4.56 gears.

cheers

the best thing would be to go for a drive with someone that has the same setup and gearing as you want to put in which is what i want to try and do before i take the plunge just to make sure i have made the correct decision. its one of those things you only want to do once. hearing people like jeeps opinion always makes me change my mind haha i originally was going 4.56 then 4.10 then 4.56 who knows what I will end up with.

I think 4.11's on a TJ with 33's would still go great and that setup would be ideal for a TJ that does a lot of touring & high speed highway stuff.

Sorry i keep making you change your mind

cheers
