At the break booster. That hole in there, is that normal?
Ages ago when I was trying to sort out my spongy brake pedal, I saw it. Always wondered if it should be there or not, and if it would have an effect on something.

Is it actually a hole and sucking in air? (bad) or is it just an indentation? (good).

I'll be under the hood of my TJ tomorrow morning, and I'll have a look what mine looks like then (if I remember).

I don't know if it's sucking air. Would have to check once I got it up and running again (currently editing for dry days to get calipers of and rebuild,)

At some point I put a piece of ductape over it, in case it WAS sucking air. Can't recall if it made any difference.

Thanks for checking

I didn't take any pics, but that part on my TJ is completely smooth all the way around aside from little moulding lines from production.

Hmmmm. Seems the hole shouldn't be there then.
I'll check it out tomorrow. Vacuum hose of some sort?Does it just pull off?

Just been out for a look see. Pulled and twisted on hose and it comes off easily enough. The plastic tube it goes in to has slight barbs on it. Pulled and twisted on the check valve after that. It comes out of the rubber grommet almost as easily, and it too has slight barbs on it.
