Sounds like we probably both did about the same... good to know. (Point taken on the trade though!)
As I understand it, the engine is VM Motori (Owned by Merc) and the transmission is a Merc box, but I could be wrong. Both felt pretty sweet anyway
May not be able to get it till next week though

Oh well...

Finally, after too much waiting I get hold of the KK tomorrow (fingers crossed).
Seems to have taken for ever but only one more sleep!
Has anyone with a KK Limited manged to get an ipod integrated? There seems to be a pretty confused load of info on the net about which part you need. I have the non nav premium audio.... Hoping someone knows the score.

Congrats. I thought the same when I bought my 1995 XJ. Then when the engine was broken in [across the Nullabor Plain], I bashed the living crap out of it out in the deserts. Back then, people at William Creek, the west Simpson and Tanami sayeth to me: "how could you bring your new car out here?" as it was a cut above the agri-CruiserRoverPatrols they were driving. My response: "that is what the car was made for"...

If you are going to enjoy your car, it will be under warranty and new, when bits and pieces don't fall off easily. Thrash it, smash it, go where angels fear [their cars] to tread. Only then - will you have an appreciation for the car. No point letting it get old. Have fun NOW!!! [Having said this - safety is paramount and only do what your skills and vehicle allow].

Put the underbody protection on immediately....as for lifting it? It might not be a priority depending on where you want to go first... If it is desert trails for example, the lift can wait. I saw XJ Ltds as new traverse the deserts with their stock shocks, tyres and height - nothing happened to them....

I only got my XJ lifted last year after belting it around for 11 years in the deserts ...
