a lot of variables with an existing slab (e.g. condition, use of reo etc), especially one in residential situation. as already mentioned I'd go closer to 100mm from slab edge if using dynabolts bcos as murray said, they push the hole outwards. you could go a bit less if using chem set- very strong stuff but im not sure what type of bolts you would use with it. Ive only used chem set with reo bars.
Hilti or ramset bought out a product a couple of years back. Its a bolt with a screw thread that you just drilled it into a predrilled hole (like if screwing into hardwood) and it was supposed to be as strong as using chem set. cant remember if its still around or if it lives up to the marketing claim. and the bolts are pricey too but very easy to use.
