How about the 5.7L and the 6.1L hemi engines?, they pretty much blow over anything in its price range!!

And when the XJ was released with it's 135kw 290NM 4.0L engine, it was the most powerfull car available in oz at that time, even when compared to the V8s.
And not to mention it only weighed only 1.5 tonnes.

Dont get me wrong, the technology was ancient, but it still kicked @rse!!
And it still has more power when compared to some medium size japanese cars, such as the brand new mitsibushi triton.

I think I will also miss the classic inline 6 engine configuration, to a more space saving v6 set up.

I hope they don't bring out the JK with the WG V8, Hemi or the 3.0 Diesel

because then the temptation would be to much & I would have to upgrade & sell the house

Appears to be about 300kg heavier than the TJ in two door trim. ...coupled with a V6 ..that only has 16kw more power and 10nm more torque than the TJ's in line six....?? On paper at least it seems to be a concern. Makes the CRD all the more tempting in a six speed.. but unfortunately that doesn't come in the Rubicon (yet anyway). I only hope they don't muck up the towing option which allows for a Dana 44 rear..along with 4.01 final drive. That alone could save it. I wouldn't be too keen to fix the tow pack on those power figures and the 3.22 standard diff that's being quoted. It seems a bit of a feeding frenzy for detailed information on these beuties..but there don't seem to be a lot of answers yet. I guess time ..and a test drive or two will tell. The unlimited is rated in the region of 1600kg tow weight..so I'd imagine the 2 door would be around 1000kg.. and thats with the 4.01 final drive.
