Hi Silver,
are you sure the 2.8CRD Liberty is supported?I didnt think they got those over there either! Where abouts are you? I'd love to test this device on my 2.8 Cherokee (KJ) as i'm after a tool that reads all the gauges and resets codes.

Been wanting one myself but if you want to read all the codes, the way I read the info is that a DRB III, the Chrysler scanner is the only one. Think I will go for an OBII at least I can use it on other vehicles as well and it won't break the bank, especially as I don't want to be using it very often, prefer never actually.

They have confirmed in an email to me that they support the Jeep Liberty Diesel ('05 - '06).

Drover,

The advantage of this tool is the fact that it covers such a wide range of vehicles...

Yep, thats what I meant, but having a 2.7 I would go with the basic OBDII set up.

Default Is there a diagnostic tool now available

This tool can do a lot of functions which the DRBIII can and is very affordable, hence me considering to purchase it. It however does not work on the WG 2.7CRD because this model GC was never available in the USA and the Autoenginuity technicians can not get hold of one to do development with. The 2.8CRD Liberty and Sprinter 2.7 diesel is however supported.

I had quite a couple of discussions with them to try to convince them to include the 2.7 CRD, but we could not find a solution as yet. It is only the ECU and TCM which is different than the petrol models. The body controller etc is all the same.

The Autoenginuity technicians told me that they will be visiting Australia sometime this year and they have assured me that they will try to get hold of a 2.7 CRD to do some development and testing with.

My thinking is that perhaps some of you guys in Australia can also communicate with them to make them aware of the need for a diagnostics tool for the 2.7 as there are so few affordable options apart from the DRBIII available. They are also continuously adding updates to the software.

Please visit their website @ www.autoenginuity.com.

Maybe we will soon have another option for fault finding...
G'Day I know this is an old thread but I have just bought an 04 Grand Cherokee with the 2.7 in it so I was just wondering if there is a suitable and affordable disnostic tool available for it now, any links to sites etc or if someone has one they no longer want I would be happy
Cheers Andrew

The short answer is no not on a typical DIY budget. Find a cheap DRBIII or spend at least $2k. Torque spp will do a couple of very basic things.
