Put it in a tupperware box and sea; with silastic ,it's worked for many of my electronic ignition systems.
Also this is only the enginemanagement CPU, there's another blackbox under the centre console that may shut you down anyway as soon as water gets over the transmission hump inside. There's a;sp a minicpu in the instrument cluster too.

It would be more of a heat issue I would imagine.

I have heard of some of the other Deisel Jeeps actually melting the computer over time (well, melting the insultation on the wires).

It get's hot under that bonnet!

The question still remains unanswered though guys. Why oh why would you want to drive your jeep into to water or mud that deep that you would be concerned about frying the ECU:?: :?:

If you are seriously gonna drive into stuff like that, buy an older jeep like a
CJ5, which does not have all this electronic crap under the bonnet.Pretty simple really:idea:

Why don't they invent a car which can mount a sat dish on a roof, and keep the ECU remote, on dry land, away from mud, and rocks, and water etc? The remote ECU can send signals to the satellite and have them beamed down to the JK.

Maybe store the software on a server at IBM Server Services or something....

I have a better idea, lets store the ECU in our foreheads.

This is redi-kewless.

Get an XJ.

NO. as soon as it gets warm no condensation as it evaporates due to temperature caused by computing. corrosion is very minimal when turned off due to highly stable metals being used and a lack of moving connections (which as in a keyboard can get fowled when/if corrosion starts) i like the sealed plastic/tupperware box with a hole cut for wires and silicone.

absolutely agree. must be a pretty wealthy person who can afford to buy a brand new jeep, stick on a couple of mods then go out and attempt things that are almost certain to do serious damage to the vehicle. buying an old cheap truck for that purpose makes more sense to me.
