Default Same Problem

I have recently bought a new KK Sport fitted with the standard solid side rails. I found your posts and I think my problem may almost be solved.

The question I have is did you leave the painted surface exposed when the double sided tape was removed and the new rails fitted. I went back to my dealer today and checked out a Cherokee Limited with the factory side rails fitted and there was some sort of rubber surface along the channel under the rail. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks CarlG

Just installed the rails a la BTtalyor.

I just took the old rubber ridges off and left the paint exposed. Still to properly clean the tape etc but looks and works well.

G'day Carl, sorry haven't gotten back to your post - been flogging myself at work!

I properly cleaned all the double sided tape off, and left the bare painted surface. It was factory finished on my roof, so I didn't see the need to cover it back up again.

I think it looks great... But that's just me

I have a 2010 KK sport. My roof rails are metal painted matt black. Was there a change between the 2009 and 2010 models?

I've just received custom roof rails in from RockyRoad. The product itself looks very high quality. Its a pity that after numerous email confirmation requests, VIN supplied , waiting a month they still shipped incorrectly to fit a KJ. Be careful when ordering from them. Wish I read the reviews prior to purchase...
