Shove the proxy votes as they only stand for who you want in..Sorry to hear that memberships are down......one has to look as to why.All one can say is keep'em on their toes.Articles, photo's and reports handed in from trips but not processed......I sent heaps in........Thanks to R.S always happy to help out....leisure fest was a great day.If the committee feels that the Mornington group is a waste of time then they have something to fear by so many unhappy members and members that have not renewed their memberships why was there so many members not present at the AGM it just shows that we want our meetings back at Brighton......smile JJ. I don't care who's toes I stand on, I am only one member that wishes to see this club go forward and back to Brighton and beyond with trips and fun and fun like it was before, some of us feel scared even to say something, because it may upset the committee well I'm not...............................so
i couldnt agree more robbo, can see this from a mile away

unfortunetly the selfish human instinct takes over and people don't realise that the club is bigger than the individual

if you boys want to start a small peninsula group, well done and go for it, i would tell these committee people to piss off

The president cannot be president for more than 2 years - there was an exception for JJ to run the Jambo

Rules already there

No ones doing the job they did last year except communications and operations both did outstanding jobs last year

There was alot of new blood on the committee this year and even more in 2009/10

the peninsula issue came from the floor and it wasn't a committee member

I know I personally have done the best I could do for the club in the last 12 months i was on the committee and unfortunately cannot do it this coming year due to work commitments

We have a new President - new vice president and 3 new committee members - only 2 from 2 years ago are left now

Robbo you know your going to have fun with me this weekend so bring a happy face this weekend and get ready for big hugs and kisses

Hmmm - can I clear a few things up?
There is no requirement that the pres can only hold the position for 2 years. It has been a tradition (except JJ) but not in any club rules that I am aware of.
Anybody can nominate - it doesn't matter whether in writing or from the floor, and proxy votes have nothing to do with this. A proxy vote is simply from a financial member who is unable to attend the AGM and gives his vote to the person he selects. It has absolutely nothing to do with nominations.
The Mornington Peninsula group has not been discussed at a committee meeting snce Lushy suggested it and it was supported by the committee. So I don't know what yoy guys are actually talking about.

It never cases to amaze me that every year, nobody puts their hand up to take a position, and then after the AGM we have to put up with this crap.
For christ sake nominate for a position next year and show the Club what you can do to actually help!
If we had a club full of Rohan's and Tasar's, what a fantastic club we could actually have, instead of people hanging sh!t on those who actually put their hands up to do some work.
My 2 bobs worth!

I think that the whole car goes with the position and is the prize for taking on that role....i mean by the time you take out the leather lounges and the bar etc its easier to just pass it on.

it was not a committee member who stated that : "Why Bother" with the Mornington group as it did come from the floor. The committee are 100% behind any sub groups of MJOC so Robbo please do not put comments up when you were not there when I announced the first get together from the floor. I stated to the objectee that I wanted to see the Peninsula membership get together to provide more trips and stuff to the whole membership of MJOC. So it has come the time that we put up or shut up and get things moving. Anyone who has not at the meeting and have a winge as to what happened at the AgM should have got of their buts and turned up.
