jeep may be refuseing warranty as you are useing a hayman reece and not a jeep tow bar I dont know about a Grand but on a XJ there is an extra anchor point just in front of the tow hitch the bumper bar has to be removed to fit the bolts
Just had a look at that 'caradvice' web site pics and was surprised that it appears that the tow bar is bolted on useing 'nutserts' and there appears to be no reinforcing inside the box section What other models use this type of set up on the XJ 98 & 01 that i have they both have a flat bar inside the box section where the towbar/fuel tank bash plate bolts screw into thus spreading tha load over a greater area Maybe I'm wrong with the nutserts but that is what they look like to me
Towed my 1.2tonne (laden) van at least 30,000kms inluding Vic to WA and back in 4 weeks and Innamincka twice. Neary a problem with body cracking and the car is now up to 108,000kms.
