there's no way you can fit 33's without trimming the guards... and extending the bump stops.... and re-gearing, so you don't break axles etc..

It's a HUGE leap getting the XJ from 31's to 33's... and being able to wheel it..

here's mine with the 34's... just before I sold it... cos it kept breaking...

Cant run 33's on a D35 as will kill it for sure if used off road in low range with throttle! Only a matter of time.

Handy to know. Thanks.

Think trimming the guards will be on the cards. Then hopefully a new job before going insane-like.

I run a 32 x 11.5 MTR on my XJ and its pretty much like the 31 x 10.5 MTR's I had before,gear wise.
All I did was took the original guards off my XJ, trimmed the metal front and back, removed all the plastic, made a reinforcement under the front guards with aluminum sheeting and put my original guards back on. I just put them up higher and drilled holes straight threw the plastic into the side of the car. I wanted to go with the bushwachers because they look very good. But if your rock crawling and hit one of them, they crack and break way to easy. For the money it wasnt worth it.
But the tyres do stick out so I'v kept the 10.5's at hand just in case I get pulled up.
Although I only drive my XJ off road.
I would also check Wooder's out if you are interested in the Bushwacher's as I'm almost certain he can get them for less than $1000.

I got mine sent to me from the states via the internet.

Look up rocky-road.com and they will mail it to you for around $700aus (from memory)

Every1 else in Oz charges around the $950-$1000 mark.
