I agree on the factory service manuals. Great resource IMO I don't see mention of chilton/Haynes manuals anymore.
I had one for my 1992. Big help but since. now I turn to the net for all my info.

Sorry - but the truth.
Toff you are absolutely right Haynes is total waste of money and time. it is a better piece of TP.
Haynes is one level below the owners book you get with the car. better than nothing, I guess your suggestion of TP is valid if you get caught short out wheeling.

There is a bit of good info on the Bosch motor sport site. That is where I found a pdf for the MAP sensor on my diesel. It is a full spec with output graphs. Made it so I could show that I didnt have a MAP sensor problem. I guess I should go looking for a link & post it here. Would be easier just to upload the file if I could.

If they're sending you the Apollo 11 lander manual I'll put up my hand right now - my golden retriever ate my last one and I have this annoying CO2 scrubber problem I can't figure out.

@kjeeper
As a DIYer myself.. I couldn't have done without Haynes of Chilton manuals.. I've had them for all of our vehicles since the 80's if not earlier.. and if there are mistakes.. I send the page number etc to Haynes.. thou I can't catch them all if any.. These manuals are a poor mans option to having a or even affording a real service manual. Often I simply pick up a few via Olie's which is a second hand shop. There is nothing wrong with these manuals thou the paper the pages are printed on could be used as toilet paper.. but that's not the point.. I use them and these are a good "first timers" resource.

Mate, Just an observation, since you've joined last month theres been a big flurry of stuff from you in regards to the manuals (no complaint just an observation), and then looking at a lot of your pro-Haynes stance, I am just curious - what IS your association with Haynes?
From my personal perspective I think they are a rubbish manual. I paid $40 for a paper version for my TJ and was seriously surprised at not only how little detail it had, but how many potential errors because of the broad years it tried to cover.
So my Haynes "manual" covered 1988-2004 (from memory) and was only 250-300 pages long. Compared to the factory service manual which even official versions can be purchased for about the same as I paid for my Haynes, is year model specific and ~1000 pages.
And so why anyone would continue to tout Haynes such as you are given this, leaves me asking the question about YOUR (and Blind-Eddie's) sudden appearance on the forum and your affiliation with Haynes.

OK I am just curious and I don't really believe in coincidence.

How far should one look beyond their hand?
