Thanks for the info , interesting to see a inline fuse, i assume that is part of the cruise control, was not foot brake wire.

Cruise requires a few conditions to be met, one of these is knowing what is happening in the transmission, a fault could be caused by the selector switch not providing the correct info.

Scan the beast and see if there are any transmission codes set as this may discover something.

well had scan done by local sparky no joy switches are working, so i might have to take a trip to Jeep dlr??

I didn't get any codes either when mine played up briefly. I'd do all possible before heading to a dealer, why not pull the switch anyway and clean the contacts, nothing to lose.

Is yours Adaptive Cruise Control if so front sensor could be damaged.

Over on jeepgarage.org WK2 section there is a "cruise control not working thread" dating back to 2011...
Not much there except most issues seem to relate to the steering wheel switches - replacement cured the not working issue.
There is one poster who stated pressing the On/Res buttons at the same time turned his cruise control on. Still a likely switch issue though.

Hi to all we finally got to the bottom of the problem, someone had flashed the computer with a later model program that had adaptive cruise control reflashed with right program and all is good working as it should, 6 hours labour to find it
