The US models had H13 bulbs as standard, we get "normal" H4 bulbs. Some aftermarket lights built for USA but sold here have H13 plugs and either come with H4 adaptor harnesses or you can get them from ebay for cheap enough. It actually works pretty well to extend the tight headlight wiring and have somewhere that you can splice in a power wire for driving light relays. The stock park lights are BA15s globes but a lot of replacement halogen headlights use T10 wedge park light bulbs.

An anti-flicker harness is used to regulate the power to the light so it doesn't look like it is flickering at a high frequency, especially when they are being powered on or off or when the car isn't running.

Those Britax headlights have a better reflector, a polycarbonate lens and they include pretty decent bulbs too - good value for $120. It's still worth upgrading to a good super-bright bulb imho but for the money, they provide excellent lighting with enough change left over for lots of driving lights.

+1 on the Britax inserts.

I went with +100 globes, (better), then the Britax (MUCH better).

Then I tried some LED "globes", but they cannot focus in H4 reflectors properly due to them emitting light from a patch not a filament. HID's should work ok in a reflector, but some sites advise otherwise due to the difference between a filament & the arc in an HID. I have also seen HID globes that did not align correctly in the holder & so didn't focus. These threw light & glare everywhere until I made spacers to position them correctly.

I currently have the JW Speakers & they are great on low beam, but you DO pay for it. High beam is ok, but if I want excellent illumination, I use the 20" light bar + high beam.

If I was starting from scratch, I'd probably go with Britax, then +130 globes. Or try the Trucklights as they are between the JW & Britax in price & effectiveness, from what I have read. I have not seen them in the wild, yet.

Where are you? Someone nearby may have some left over from an upgrade, that they don't need any more. (Like me! )

I managed to get a pair of new in box speaker evo 2 lights on ebay auction for a REALLY good price. And they were for Left Hand Traffic..
Out of the box they flickered like a strobe light in an 80s disco.
On hi they even made my light bar strobe, which it did not do when I ran philips diamond vision halogens..
2 relays and 2 capacitors and some wiring later, (why would you feed your headlights PWM?????) they all run direct off battery and they are awesome, but not worth the list price.

i just replaced my stock halogen bulbs with whiter brighter ones ( SCA blue power ) and i love the change. i couldnt stand the stock yellow bulbs and didnt want to buy a whole new head light to get LED.

I WAS considering changing to HID and LED conversion kits but id rather not get a defect from some angry cop, so changing the bulb is the cheapst and easist way to get more light and change the look.

SCA bulbs set me back $30.

Let me know if you want pics.

Yeah, I replaced the stock globes with H4 Osram Nightbreakers......good upgrade and excellent value (paid $49). Good usable low beam....for my high beam I have a 20" LED combo bar and two Vision X Light Cannon LED spots......so the headlight high beam performance isn't an issue.
For the OP...I believe only LED headlights need anti-flicker...some are now built into the light itself.
