Mines at stock height atm, so its not going to be axlewrap nor would the Add a leaf/ lift blocks cause it as it didnt with mine.
Mmmmmm do you have an add-a-leaf with a lifting block like mine now...?

No i ran 2.5" lift blocks or lowering blocks, same thing, then cut them in half to make a 1.25" lift blocks as that still gave me over 3.5" lift with stock leafs (resprung) and 1.25" blocks. Never had Add-a-leaf as its not good on putting a different shaped leaf with your old pack.

Push up and down on the front driveshaft slip yoke and see if there is any play. Should be none.

I'll be having a good gig tomorrow. The thump after break release makes me think its a tranmission thing that I never noticed it before the extra spring came out as it started right then. Maybe the extra load from the add-a-leaf obsorbed it? and now I can feel it...?

My 94 XJ does the same thing, but it doesn't do it in 4wd (both part and full-time). Over the years I've lubed, tightened, checked everything underneath to no avail.

JDU, does yours do it in 4wd?

Ive had the same problem as well, in fact there was a thread a few days ago about this, anyhow i got under again to have another look on sunday, i greased the hell out of the rear drive shaft (again) and also adjusted the handbrake (roll back and pull up handrake) this actually helped the thump go away for the moment so ill see how it goes.

I mainly had the issue when stopping real fast, if i breaked lightly it didnt do it.
