go for the CRC branded Contact cleaner.

FYI my EGR valve was replaced and the vehicle runs and idles much smoother. The old one was faulty. Symptom was poor accelerator response (you might get used to that, i also experienced hesitation under 2000rpm) and a light popcorn sound under full boost and load (between 1700 and 1900rpm).
Your quite right the CRC brand is the one to buy...I couldn't remember it without getting up and taking a look.

My EGR was replaced well before the MAF started to play up....even with the filter it's amazing how much dust still get's in......

What's the egr valve? I'm about to head to dick smith to buy the crc cleaner. So I just spray it on no wiping or anything like that right ?

Hopefully this does the job!

A point to keep in mind BEFORE you go squirting stuff on the MAF is that there is a risk involved. The actual sensor element is miniscule and even squirting "stuff" on it could cause damage. I believe CRC make a MAF cleaner but even that's not recomended by the manufacturers apparently.

This is information from Bosch on their sensors and backed up by examples of self help gone wrong.

You could argue that you've got nothng to loose if its really stuffed but it might be an expensive error if your not certain.

Yep just spray inside and careful not to touch the surface as it will cost you a min of $283.00 for a new one I've used since mine was 12 months old and never had a problem.....it will dry off it self as it's just hydrocarbbon.
