Not sure what state you are in, but if you go in for annual inspections they will fail you.
sounds like its not worth it. is there any LED globes that i can fit in the lamps? if so which ones will work well?

Yes watch the US spec lamps... as stated they flash red not amber.

IMO replacing the incandescent bulbs with LED's seems the most promising - assuming its reliability not style your after. Keep in mind that the JK has bulb failure detection, so a LED may cause a DTC if it draws a sufficiently small current. Adding appropriate parallel resistors can increase the current draw to the point of satisfying the ECU.

LED's Unlimited ( AJOR Vendor ) would most likely be able to advise and supply

US Spec headlights have similar challenges as they are designed for LHD... so they actually direct the light into the eyes of oncoming motorists instead of onto the kerb as with a RHD designed lamp. This is not only annoying for others, its actually a risk for you as we focus on the kerb to keep our bearings when faced with an oncoming car and a US spec lamp won't illuminate it as required.

Default JK Tail light replacement

below are some pics and a link to a video of what i have in mind of using for the JK tail light replacement, not sure yet if it will have the chrome surround on it or not, will just wait and see how it looks once on, we are in the process of making up a corner mold with the tail light in it,

As always, comments are appreciated (and expected )

The bulbs are a P27/7w, or 3157 fitting.
Can work with resistor, but its a decent size required, not matchstick size, think lighter size, in order to avoid the CANBUS system detecting the resistance drop and changing the flash rate.
Best I understand is that CANBUS smarts control the flashrate, not a flasher relay or such. Unless the bulb error can be deprogrammed, a resistor would need to be fitted to each bulb fitting.
However, IMO, the round ones all look like arse, and the good ones a all US spec only.

With bulb replacements, I also suggest caution to make sure the brightness difference between the tail/brake (a combo fitting) is sufficient. One I tried were not, so I didnt use them.

Regarding the US light thing .. ours are the same as the Euro ones.
Perhaps there is something available in the UK or Euro that makes all this easy?
Just remember that the error will come on if there is a change of current (LAMP FAILURE) and if your doing this to save ono current drain, the resitor will make this use the same current as bulbs do.
The US used to ban the use of halogen bulbs ... almost laughable and when you refer to MightyMouse's post you can see why they use candles.
