I’m willing to give it a go. It would be nice to see if anyone else has done it.

Ive been looking around the car parks but haven't even seen a Summit only Limited's and Laredo's, mostly with bar work be good to have a close look at one without a bull bar so I could park beside and compare, did that for something else, ended up Mrs went and did the shopping and we were still yacking when she came back with a trolley load...........

I've just noticed you specified for a late-model Summit. There are definitely mounting differences from 2017 onwards, hence why Chief specifies 2013-2015 and 2017+ in their new bar. From memory some manufacturers haven't made the updates required for 2017 onwards.

I've seen photos of an ARB bar on a 2015 Summit, but their website lists availability to present, so it should be okay. I've also seen the ORA predator bar on a 2017+ Summit - so there are definitely options out there.

Don't know if you have looked but the ECB site has fitting instructions for a bar which is for an 18-20 JGC except for S Limited and S Overland, which could help to see any major differences to what yours is like. https://portal.ecb.com.au/products/j...=textura-black .................... I actually have no idea what a S Limited or Summit is, other than a more blingy Grand than mine so excuse my ignorance.

Basically a Limited and Overland with the Summit bumper and flares and SRT bonnet. More of a sporty/street focus that was targeted at those who didn't necessarily want to go off-road, but wanted to tow and/or just have a mid-size nice SUV

Well thats cleared that up for me, thanks............................ So the bumper thats left on after removing the lower section may impede on the bull bar, would need to park a Summit next to a basic Limited then, do some measuring and profiling..... prowl the car parks with camera and tape measure I suppose......

I had a good look behind mine always thought they had chopped a bit off but just removed the lower panel, never looked much before nothing broken...

Yeah the biggest difference is in the size and profile of the removable lower section of the two bumpers. Will be worth waiting for Chief's install instructions to see the exact difference, as they've mentioned minimal cutting for Laredo, Limited, Trailhawk, Overland, and extensive cutting for Summit, etc.

Slightly off-topic but I wonder if there are any considerations (e.g. insurance cover in an accident) relating to ADR approval of the Chief bar, which I can't seem to find a mention of...
