In the end, I used a tube (pvc pipe) that fit around the radar bulb but sat flush on the flat part behind it, then leveled it with a spirit level and with the tube I could see if it was cock eyed off to one side, has been golden since.

Well it's comforting to know it just needs to be parallel to the backing plate and level. I'm sure I can contrapt something to do that, just need to get a round tuit!

Haha, after jiggling it around the other day I stopped getting the warning! Drove the whole way to work today with no orange lights at all and it was glorious! Then on the way home the serv 4WD light came on....then the FCW light came on....

But the drive to work was great!
