Hi all,

Happy to report it's all fixed!

SCA had a Commodore hose - CH2280C for $20 - and the elbow in the middle fit pretty much perfectly!

I also gave it a flush and new coolant. Dumping the coolant multiple times via bottom hose of radiator and re-filling (with drives in between) worked fine - till the final refill when I got an air-lock somewhere and coolant didn't circulate. Engine temp was showing just above half-way and rising slowly - but no heat from the cabin heater on max. Tried squeezing the pipes with the car on a hill to no avail.

I searched for the location of the air bleed valve - but couldn't find any reference to them. I eventually found this youtube vid -
- which shows the coolant bleed valve hidden in plain site (I thought it was just a molding nib)! Took 10 minutes before it stopped burping - but all good now!

Thanks all for your help!

Thats great, further digging could probably find a smaller bit but stuff it, works for me ............ my sort of job............. That is very good on finding the bleed off valve, since I haven't needed it yet, very handy for just in case...........
Well done Sir............

Good stuff mate, when it comes to anything Generic such as hoses think outside the square and you,ll save bloody heaps, how Jeep can charge over $90 for something which is as you found out $20 for a hose 3 times the size is bloody criminal, and even the label says may suit other applications !!!!once again (Done well Munwel )

Jeep Dealers do not do the product any good at all...daylight robbers. I had to buy a new sump plug for my WK2 diesel, as it must have been a Gorilla that had changed the oil previously. A local well known Dealer quoted me $75.00 ex Melbourne for a flippin' sump plug!

I ended up paying a ridiculous $32.00 for a sump plug from another local Dealer, who's parts bloke said they had a box of them. Which they would, as Jeep recommend replacing the plug at every oil change!

I just had the oil cooler replaced on my VM diesel as it leaked oil in to the coolant, as these VM's tend to do. That cost a tad over $1600.00 for the "support", which in fact is the complete filter housing, (including a filter cartridge), and the oil cooler itself.

Nothing is cheap, and having been caught out before with a costly non genuine part failure I am reluctant now to buy non genuine stuff...

I'm not sure why you think that mate. Time after time it has been proven just how piss poor quality a lot of OEM Jeep parts are. All these super expensive and hard to get at leaking hoses prove that. And Jeep almost never updates or modifies a known repeat failure part.....they sell you the same piece of shit part that failed......at an exorbitant price.
