I have PM'd Boiler from LOST about manufacture & freighting to AUS. He sounded keen at first but last PM from him he states that he has decided to "shy away from International shipping with large items at the moment". A big disappointment.

Jeeper's how confident are you with this type of production & if so what do you think the time frame would be???. Obviously would be a lot easier to stay local.

I head up to the folks place on the 23 August The ol man has the car at the moment and hopefully will do some measurements and specs. Not sure about time frames as I head away for a couple weeks after that with work so I have no Idea about time frames all depends on the $$ as the boss is more keen on buying a new bed room suite..... We have a good family friend who is a fabricator owns all kinds of equipment to do the job and as he builds all kinds of farm equipment Im fairly confident we should get the job done..... the beer economy will be well used I think

Cheesy Racing seems to have good work but might keep this one close to home

Would Boiler be willing to supply his design, templates, etc (for a fee)? I have sent a few sets of my KJ Storage Unit plans to the US. That costs next to nothing to ship. Why protect your Intellectual Property in a market you can't justify on a workload or cost (shipping) basis?

I kinda dont understand his logic, surely all he has to do is make one, let you know its ready, and Greg, you simply orgainise your own shipping pickup. Cant be that hard. Or maybe see if one of the Other LOST lads will help forward one on.

mmm... I can see the wife getting nervous. She thought I was satisfied with the winch bar and nerfbars but I've opened this thread a few times now.

There are a couple fabricators here in Australia that are willing to have a play around with one if plans were available. I attempted plans and specs whilst I was at the folks a few months ago with help of a fabricator (Family friend), will be continuing this weekend, lets hope... Beer isn't cheep now days!! Will probably follow a similar Idea to GOMAD's version. The big factor is costs and if it meets ADR's.
