Yerr I was thinking that may have been the case as Kmart quoted an hour extra labour to take the rotors off for machining. Best way to do them would be to machine them on the car. Just don't know of anyone is Launceston who does that. I could take a chance and just fit pads but I have had issues with that before, in saying that both problem cars were auto. Maybe I could invest in a dial gauge and test them for run out. May just have to pay Kmart to do them. Might see if I can supply pads to save some coin.

Regards A

I could take the chance but from my experience it causes problems. I did that on the Jeep and the rotors cracked in 5 places within six months. On the Ford the stealership did them without machining the rotors and it shuddered like shit once the pads were 1/4 worn. On the Jeep I can't be certain if it was because I used EBC pads or what, as it has only ever happened once and I only ever used EBCs once. Using Bendix I have never been an issue but I have always either machined or replaced the rotors at the same time. Now on my third set without an issue.

Regards A

Hey AG just been looking on rockauto site looks like the rotors on the lancer are separate to the hub I'd contact them & get a couple of the new correct rotors shipped over with a set of pads to suit would proberbly work out cheaper than f/upmart. also heaps of manuels to download under 1995 mitsubishi lancer workshop manuels (sorry would send you a link if i could remember how).

I don't use Rockauto in Tas due to freight costs. But I will call Car Parts Plus in Lonsdale and ask Shane to send me some over. Rotors are only $37 each from them. He should be able to tell me if I need a bearing kit as well because that will be the decider. I am not able to fit bearings if its what I think they might be like. I might even pick the brains of Repco because they will be open on the public hollis and they don't need to know I will have no intention of getting my parts from them.

what ? , lets see , struts if you are in the trade they will not cost that much , last time I had to replace struts was on a BMW E36 cost : about 400 each , I got two brand new for 300 ,look around first look on flee bay as for brakes , whats the diff is it a front wheel drive , just undo the centre so it can slide off the front shaft ,and the base of strut, rotors are cheap , just get a set of RDA , same for pads , as for pads retract the pistons on the calliper keep it in place use the pad for lever , just don't force a screwdriver between the pad and rotor .
and before lifting up lancer , undo the main nut first using a torsion bar then when loose start pulling the rest off , if you can do xj you should be able to do a 95 lancer.
