That sounds pretty heavy on fuel. Any mod's? Lift, bigger tyres?

Mine, when standard, got ~10.3 L/100 and ~14 around town.
Now ~12 highway and ~15 around town with 3" lift and 32"'s.

Check your air filter, if it's bad that will cause excess fuel consumption.
Otherwise, exhaust, possibly O2 sensors and wouldn't hurt to check engine compression.
How's the auto? Converter locking up? Not slipping through gears?

That's just a few ideas off the top of my head.

Good luck,
Ruffy

A recalibration of expectations.

It's a 4.7 V8, 4WD, heavier than a small car etc, so won't have that kind of consumption or drive like one.

Put the money saved from not buying a diesel towards maintenance as said or previously discussed or small tyres, oem bumpers, don't fill up keep it light etc.

How about a LPG conversion?

Try running higher tyre pressure for a few tanks and see what effect that has.
Aside from a 'fault', tyres, tyre pressure and roof rack/load have the most impact on an otherwise stock car in my experience (I was a bit of a 'hypermiler' nerd in a past life.).

But take comparisons within a couple L/100 on forums with a grain of salt, just gotta try something and see what it does for you.
