I would have thought the EGR delete would stop the valve opening so no need for a blanking plate but one never knows, check it after 50K to make sure nothing has eaten that gal tin away.
I will eventually get an I Drive as the delay when I want to launch NOW, drives me mad but if I can toe a bit of throttle or roll I take off like a scalded cat, no dramas at all once I'm over 4kph, the so called turbo lag is really the ECU doing the maths so it doesn't cause pollution, no thought of the B Double about to squash you as you sit in no mans land..........
looks the goods for sure........
PS: I can be sitting behind some dodderer doing 70kph get a chance and launch, 130kph when I'm alongside them, plenty of G's so not a sound from co-pilot, I don't need anymore fast.... but a Hemi would be nice for the sound effects.

Throttle controller wont really fix your i want to go now issue. If you crank it up then it simply takes off for a min then traction control kills all your power again, Mines set about 1/2 between stock and full and as long as you roll into it like your doing now then its fine. Until its tuned better you will still have that turbo lag and then you also run into the trans lag which requires another tune.

I haven't driven a Grand with one but sons Ranger was a slug on take off and once we fitted an iDrive it would respond as soon as you put your foot down at a standing start....... mind you theres only one intersection here thats a pain then I have to drive 60kms to the next one so not in a big rush reallly..

I've also found about halfway to be the sweetspot for the idrive - it definitely doesn't remove all of the initial lag at takeoff, but I've found that it does help remove the deadzone of the pedal, improving takeoff overall. Most noticeable difference is putting your foot down when already rolling.

I started at U3 which I was really happy with. After living with it for much longer I'm now set on U6 across all speed ranges, feels like she's guzzling pure Red Bull! Have to disagree with any initial lag still being evident though, at least not in my 2013, in fact I never felt any noticeable deadzone lag even in stock form. I wonder if any changes to acceleration characteristics were made between MY's?

Possibly, different boxes so anything's possible. I don't find it's too bad by any means, but definitely noticeable - and usually when you're going for a gap!
You're right about getting used to the difference. I've been thinking of bumping it up to 5 or 6 so will give it a crack. I turned it off completely today driving to the mechanic's and couldn't believe the difference

I leave mine on 7, even when off-road, it's amazing how quick you get used to it though and start to think it's getting slower
